FOOD AND WINE
Our guests begin their day with a spectacular breakfast buffet featuring fresh pastries, tortes, pies, homemade breads, fruit, yogurt, cereals, jams, local honey, breakfast meats, and egg dishes made to order. Guests also enjoy espresso and cappuccino to order, or choose from a selection of juices, teas, and drip coffee.

Borgo guests often choose to enjoy relaxed lunches on site, served in buffet style with something to please everyone, or a sit-down three course lunch catered to your wishes.

A delightful tradition at the Borgo is to have a substantial aperitivo with cocktails, Prosecco and other beverages served before dinner in the bar, courtyard or on the lawn, along with delicious appetizers.

After aperitivos, everyone gathers for one of Chef Daniele Ciofi’s spectacular three-course dinners of classic, seasonal Tuscan and Italian specialties.
At Borgo Finocchieto each meal is a celebration of life. Ingredients have to be the freshest and highest quality. Our chef shops nearly every day at the local market picking up the best nature has to offer. Vegetables come from our own organic garden. Local butchers have the most fabulous meat, and the sea is just 90 kilometers away.

Chef Ciofi has deep foundations in traditional Tuscan cuisine that he combines with creative and modern variations to produce his extraordinary “Tuscan cuisine with a twist.”

Wines served at all meals are selected from the Val d’Orcia and Val d’Arbia, which includes the world-famous Brunello growing region. The wine cellar at Borgo Finocchieto is stocked with the best that Tuscany can offer: Brunello, Rosso di Montalcino, Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, as well as hand-crafted Sangiovese vintages, Super Tuscans, and other fine wines from local producers.

With over 200 wineries within a 15 mile radius, a visit to Borgo Finocchieto provides an opportunity to savor some of the best Italian wines. Borgo Finocchieto has the distinct advantage of being located between three of Italy’s most revered DOCG wine regions: Chianti Classico to the north, Montalcino with its Brunello to the southwest, and Montpulciano with its Vino Nobile to the southeast.

The Chianti countryside begins thirty kilometers north, stretching from Siena to Florence. Montepulciano’s territory lies thirty kilometers southeast. Montalcino, the smallest but perhaps most revered of the three, is closest and can be reached in minutes. Borgo Finocchieto maintains a special relationship with a number of well-respected wine growers in the region, vineyard relationships which mean you will have access to a carefully chosen collection of house wines. We would be pleased to arrange a special tour and tasting at some of our accommodating vineyards, or equip you with a map and tips for striking out on your own to find undiscovered treasures.
