THIS IS BORGO FINOCCHIETO

The greatest luxury in the finest Tuscan tradition...

Borgo Finocchieto, unique among luxury villas in Tuscany, is a beautifully and elegantly restored eight hundred-year-old village, or “borgo,” with stunning views located thirty minutes south of Siena and very close to Montalcino in the Brunello wine growing district. John Phillips, the owner of the Borgo, is an American of Italian ancestry and former U.S. Ambassador to Italy from 2013 to early 2017; he purchased the property in 2001 and spent the next eight years planning and overseeing the Borgo's extensive renovation. Five village houses, atop six acres of Tuscan hilltop grounds, accommodate groups up to 44 guests in 22 bedrooms. The Borgo specializes in creating unforgettable, custom-tailored experiences for gatherings of all kinds.

When visiting guests bid their reluctant goodbye to the Borgo and stop to sign our guest book, their names will join a long list of some noteworthy persons and groups who also found the Borgo an extraordinary Tuscan destination. That list has a decided international flavor with guests coming to us from across the globe: North and South America, Africa, the Middle East, the Far East, Europe, and Asia. Among the more well-known guests have been a very prominent former head of state; a royal family; founders and CEOs of Fortune 500 and Fortune Global 500 companies; U.S. cabinet members, senators, member of the House of Representatives, and a Supreme Court justice; presidential advisors, pollsters and political strategists; major international philanthropists; leaders of well-known nonprofit organizations and NGOs; university presidents and their boards of trustees; high UN officials and heads of worldwide UN programs; ambassadors from the U.S. and other countries; prominent authors, poets, actors, playwrights and even a cartoonist; famous restaurateurs and food innovators; entrepreneurs, start-up founders, and heads of venture capital firms; and network executives and national news anchors. Groups of all kinds gather at the Borgo to celebrate – weddings, family reunions, anniversaries, and milestone birthdays; to renew lasting friendships at school reunions; or to combine work and relaxation at retreats, business meetings or conferences.

You will discover, as others have before you, that the Borgo offers an uncommon experience among luxury properties in Tuscany. Our private village, with an elegant manor house and four comfortable village houses, will delight the most discerning of guests. The Borgo is for those who demand the very best of what Tuscany has to offer and will accept no substitute. The Borgo exceeds all demands by its history and setting, the detail and quality of its spaces, privacy, and, above all, the supreme level of its service.
